Public Speaking: Finding your Voice

The aim of the course is to strengthen students’ confidence and skills with spoken and written English, as well as to build on their communication skills for academic situations and prepare them for work. Students will be introduced to public speaking as an important component of their academic work and social lives.

They will develop critical skills by practising listening, reading and speaking as well as study different types of speeches (informative, persuasive, creative). Some performing arts skills will be also be included. At the end of the semester, students will prepare and present their own speeches to an audience.
